Our Annual Live and Silent Auction, which was held before the Living Legends banquet was a great success, among some items auctioned off were sheet metal from Junie Donlavey (actually the entire car, cut in pieces by Harvey Crowley), picture of the Ray Fox built #3 car, autographed by Ray Fox & David Pearson, which is our Club’s mascot car. Also auctioned off were autographed Glen Wood #21 Team shirts, 1:18 scale die cast Marshall Teague & Herb Thomas Hudson Hornets, donated by Jack Miller, autographed edition of Ray Fox’s “Sly in the Stock Car Forest” book, as well as, items from Ned Jarrett, Hendrick Motorsports, a vintage 1956 Racing Jacket and collectors pins from Russ Truelove. Busch & Budweiser jackets from Helene Roberson, an autographed Dale Earnhardt, Sr. card and many items autographed by Ray Nichels, donated by Wm. LaDow. We had race tickets to the NEXTEL All Star Race at Charlotte, tickets to Darlington, Las Vegas and Homestead.
During dinner, we auctioned off a beautifully framed autographed Ned Jarrett print, which was donated by Neil & Jane Valentine. A Daytona Club ticket package donated by Larry Overbey and race ticket donated by Jim Bray and of course our Bell Helmet with almost 100 signatures of past and present racing legends.
